One of the good things about twitter is the amount of fabulous people you get to meet. One of them being the slightly mad Nickie from Typecast. She very kindly tagged me in a meme. I think that’s the correct name for one of these things and no I don’t have a clue what it means. All I know is that I answer the questions and then get to tag some other people to do the same.
Which living person do you most admire, and why?
Oh nice easy one to start with – not. Think the person I admire the most is my neighbour. She is in her 80’s and lost her husband last year. Despite 53 years of never being apart and now alone she is still full of laughter. Never says a cross word and makes the best cakes ever.

Now, not as right this minute filing this in and realising how boring I am, but life in general I am now at my happiest.

As teenager hugging my mum in Tesco’s, it wasn’t my mum, my mum was doubled up laughing at me yards away.
Aside from property, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought?
Probably the dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer when the old second hand ones all died in the same week. For the first time ever I bought brand new and not second hand. Still can’t work the washing machine though.

A watch my birth father bought me when we first met, 20 years after I had been adopted.

Freshly mowed grass or new books. Go on have a good sniff of a book , you know you want to.

A cat suit like cat woman but only if it comes with the body too.

Mum asking me to throw my coat down the stairs. I did as I was told and landed at the bottom of the stairs with the coat still in my hand.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Creeping down the stairs in the middle of the night for a bowl of cereal. Its the silence, darkness and wrong time that makes it all so right.

Well I did promise them two tomato plants which I dropped round last week so I think I am all up to date.

No one really.

My children, then my phone oh and not forgetting the computer.

Kissing my daughter hello after giving birth, didn’t think I was going to make it and it was the first ever baby I had ever held too.

My children and not throttling them so far.
When did you last cry, and why?
A few weeks ago when my young cat had to be put to sleep. Howled for days.
How do you relax?
When I am asleep. I have to be either doing something or asleep I cant do the bit in between. In a bid to change this I have started gardening and knitting but don’t readily admit to this in public as it sounds like I am old.
What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
Employing a chef. Cooking and I don’t gel too well and I forget to eat when the children aren’t here.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
That money doesn’t buy happiness, you have to find it inside yourself.

I have a couple of similar answers – I took my son to the loo in Pizza Express the other week and when we came back to the table he ran up to a man at the next table with an iPad, flung his arms round his waist and said “DADDY!” I could see why he’d got mixed up but I kind of wonder if he was really after the iPad!! I also had hideous birth experience with HELLP syndrome which is a complication of pre-eclampsia, as if pre-eclampsia wasn’t complicated enough.
Thanks for tagging! I’ll be working on my own over next day or two!
