I know, I know its a day late. A long day of working yesterday followed by what seemed like an even longer shift in the shop in the evening. Crawled into bed and couldn’t keep my eyes open. So I am finally at my desk about 24 hours late.
Mainly two fabulouses this week. This week my daughter, my eldest child, had a her first driving lesson. I think I was more excited then she was about the whole thing. I had taken her for a sneaky try in one of the shop car parks after it had shut and by the second time I realized it was time for lessons as she picked it all up rather quickly.
For me it is such a big thing for her to do as its part of being independent and its something they have to do themselves. Its also one of those things that they don’t warn you about when you have children. They don’t warn you how you, as a parent, might feel when they start the engine for the first time or pull away in the car as if they have being doing it forever. They don’t warn you that you might want to cry, laugh, smile and be scared all at once.
The other fabulous bit of this week was seeing a facebook status from a friend who was buying their first Mac computer. If your from another planet I’ll briefly explain that Mac computers are expensive. Hugely expensive. There are also totally gorgeous and beautiful to look at. They are though built to last and the preferred tool of choice of most designers. Back to the status…. My friend is a fellow single mum who I have had the honor to know for several years. In those years I have never met her but have held her hand as she took the first steps in being self employed. A dream she wanted to follow. She has come so far that she is now in the position to order her first Mac. I am so pleased and chuffed for her. Not to mention wildly jealous of her soon to be status of a Mac owner.
