Sometimes trying to think of what things have been fabulous in the last week is hard work. I am the eternal positive person but even I sometimes think pah! to heck with it all. Its not that this week has been really really bad. Its just a week of not a lot of fabulous things have managed to happen. The week has had a black cloud covering it as one of our cats, Simba, went missing. We have two cats that we have had since kittens. They are sisters and adore each other. Bon was a bit of a waif when we had her and her sisters total love and affection brought her through the uncertain early weeks. Simba is a cuddles cat. Sit for more than 5 minutes and she is there. Sleep more than 1 second into her breakfast and she is there patting you on the nose to wake up. Go into the garden, she is there by your side ‘helping’. Sort a cupboard out and she is there too. She’s not into hunting and leaves that to her sister. Not that keen on being outside unless your there too. So for her not to wake me Saturday morning was odd. By mid-morning I knew something wasn’t right.
We have checked garages and sheds and contacted everyone we can think of but still no sign. My only thankfulness in all this is that while she hasn’t been found injured or killed I have hope she will trot down the path again. The only good that has come out of it is that her sister, Bon, who was an odd ball to say the least has suddenly come over all affectionate. Its as if she feels the need to fill the gap for us whilst her sister has gone AWOL.
There has been at least one fab moment. New bedding. Now most of you will get what I mean when I say new/clean bedding on a bed. Its something so simple but just lovely and glorious to look forward to. With having M.E my bed is my sanctuary. Its the place I crawl too ( sometimes quiet literally) when everything hurts so for me its has to be the best. So when I got sent some Soak and Sleep bedding to try you can imagine my excitement. The packaging does say to wash before using as its made slightly larger and shrinks on first wash. Take it from me this is correct as I didn’t believe this or more like I was too impatient to try it and ended up with a night of fighting the loose fitted sheet. After washing its fitted perfectly. Oh my its just heaven. You can just feel the quality and getting into bed is a just a big ‘siiigghhh’ of bliss moment.
My only grievance and its not really a grievance is the fastening at the bottom of the duvet cover is like a pillow case end with added ties. This is much nicer than buttons or those awful poppers that stop popping but I do believe that whoever had the idea of ties obviously doesn’t have cats.
Here’s hoping next week is full of more fabulous moments.
