Its Christmas now even though the retailers they have been trying coax you into a festive frame of shopping mind since October. Tempers are starting to get frayed. Purses and wallets are emptying faster than we can fill them. Were in the final drag, just one week to go. This time next week we will be tidying away the debris and starting to think about climbing into bed knowing its over for another year.
But it is ok to be knackered and totally fed up with the whole thing already.
Its ok to not feel Christmassy. Technically you still got a week to go to get that warm fuzzy Christmassy feel tingling in your toes. But getting that Christmas feel means different things to different people. Some can get it with just once watch of a Christmas film. Others need the full on onslaught of carols, pantomimes, nativity plays and as the turkey makes its début to the table they finally have that Christmassy feel.
Its ok if you haven’t got every item on your childs Christmas list. It ok not to have a huge pile of presents to go under the tree. They will survive.
Its ok if you have to juggle logistics and have Christmas on a different day.
Its ok not to have every vegetable grown or every trimming available to go with your Christmas dinner.
Its ok if Christmas for you is about the birth of Christ. Its also ok if you don’t follow that route and follow the route of Saint Nicholas who then becomes Father Christmas for us here in the UK. ( Just to add controversy Christmas was around for about 2000 years before the Christians declared it the birth of Jesus, despite him being born at a different time of the year.
Its also ok to celebrate ( or not celebrate) it any way you want .It’s up to you how you do it. Christmas is different things to different people.
