So I have taken the plunge, it’s quite exciting but then I am still at the ‘ OMG I am really doing this ‘ stage. I am so determined to make this work that I am putting it out there. I have bared my soul or rather my weight, on Facebook so that if friends see me wandering dangerously close to the chocolate aisle then they can hopefully keep me on the straight and narrow.
I’m doing Weight Watchers – there said it or put it into black and white.
Still a newbie as only 2 and a bit weeks in and still gasping in horror at how much I use to eat. For the past 6 years I ‘tried’ to lose weight and just put it on instead. No flipping wonder now I am actually learning how much I should be eating. Before I turned 40 I never had to worry about my weight. I mean I would always be a size 8 and hover around 8 stone, wouldn’t I? Suddenly …well obviously not suddenly it’s not exactly an overnight thing is it, it did take time to accept and acknowledge being overweight.
So here I am totally done with being 4 sizes bigger and 4 stone heavier than I was. Yes, I could have done with putting some weight on maybe but I think 4 stone is a tad overkill especially for my little 5 foot 4 height.
The Weight Watchers app has been installed on my phone. The shiny new Fitbit ( with snazzy interchanging straps) is on the wrist. I am walking and scanning my way through each day. I’ve gone off chocolate, not be swayed by the penny sweets at work and alcohol is off the menu.
I have so far managed half a stone. But I know I have a long way to go yet. My goal is to be 9 stone by Christmas and I am dragging you along for the ride and to increase my chances by making myself accountable.
My next step is to introduce walking again into my life. Bit of a love-hate relationship going on with walking. I like the idea but the knees and lungs aren’t really up to the idea. Maybe walking poles in sparkly colours could get me going?
So any Weight Watcher ‘experts’ out there got any tips?
