Fun. Such a short word but can mean so much. It makes memories and can make you smile. Its also something we seem to forget to have . We get so caught up in chasing our own tails making sure bills are paid, food in the cupboard, kids get to school/recorder practice/100th social event of the week on time, that sometimes forget we are only here for a short time. Blink and your little stint on this planet is over.
But what fun can I do with no money I hear you cry at the screen.
Got young kids then why not make a indoors camp, or out doors if weather is good. Grab the duvet covers, blankets or even large towels from the cupboard and drape over tables or clothe airers. Half the fun is creating the camp so get them involved, you join in too. Pegs are good for keeping things in place and stop panicking about the duvets covers getting dirty, they can be washed. Grab cushions and pillows for inside and if you have fairy lights grab those too. Once completed the children, and you, can draw, read stories, have a picnic….anything. Its free, its having fun and its making memories.
Try a new park. Kids getting bored of the park you normally go to then try a different one. Take a picnic or snacks and go off for the day, weather prevailing of course. Take a book or your phone for you and you can have fun too. Heck you could even play free bingo games if you want. Its free, its having fun and getting fresh air too.
Talk a walk around your area. I am lucky to live in a very pretty part of the country which has a lot of places for tourists. There are though so many places I haven’t been that are on my doorstep. Try going for a walk around your area but try it from a tourists view. Seeing something from a different view can make it totally different. Its free, its having fun and getting fresh air too.
One big tip. Take photos with you in them. In our modern world just about every phone has a camera. Use it . Not just for selfies of your new hair colour but of you and your children having fun. Get the kids to take photos so you see it from a whole new angle, probably quiet literally. When I look back over photos I dont think I have one picture of use all in it. Lots of the children but none with me in the picture as I was always the other side.
