When I first started with the running I knew I would have to push myself each week but I wasn't prepared or had thought about the actual 'getting past a hurdle bit'. I didn't think about them at all. My last run yesterday was the first one of week 4. The observant will have spotted that my weeks don't tally with when I started as you are supposed to do 3 runs a week with a rest day in between. So I should be just starting week 3. Of course, I never do anything by the rules and I have skipped ... VIEW POST

Newbie Runner Days 4, 5, 6 and 7
Complete with out of comfort zone before and half way pic. (pssst its at the bottom) If you have been visiting some other planet for the last century you may be wondering what Couch 2 5K is. Well, it's a gradual way to go from not being able to run to running 5k in one go without collapsing....hopefully. You download an app and you're told when to run and when to walk. Easy see. In Week 1, I begin with a brisk 5-minute warm-up walk, then alternate 60 seconds of running, with 90 seconds of ... VIEW POST
Day 3 Of A Newbie Runner
Whohooo and I made it to day 3. I have resisted the urge to run every day as I am determined to do this and don't want to crash and burn. Being an impatient soul that I am, this alone is a huge task for me. The cat is now used to me plodding up and down and takes the opportunity to lay all sad in front of the sofa, where I am running, trying to reach his beloved blue fluff ball that gone under there. he looks at me each time I leap over him with a look of "want to stop that running stuff ... Running Day 2
It's been like waiting for Christmas waiting for Day 2. Could I still run? Was the first day a fluke? Today is day 2. Sports bra bought, thighs clad in Lycra I was ready at 8 this morning. Sofa moved, cat fed and the app started. Oh good grief. The cat thinks I am chasing him away from his food. We have a game of me running towards him, he grabs a bite and runs out the door, I run back and he runs back to his bowl. This continues till he realizes I am not chasing him. he then thinks he is ... VIEW POST
Me ? Run? Phah
This week has seen me do something I thought I would never ever do. Indeed if you had said to me a week ago that I would not only be doing this thing but also enjoying it and looking forward to it I would have fallen on the floor in laughter. Running. Anyone who knows me in the flesh knows I do not have a body fit for running. I have boobs that no sports bra has ever managed to cage successfully. I have the stamina of a sloth and my desire to run is that of a tortoise. I also had M.E ... VIEW POST
What I Am Learning So Far With Weight Watchers
For the last 6 years, I thought I was dieting. I thought I was being really healthy and claimed I was the healthiest I had ever been and couldn't understand why I was putting on weight. I surely must be a medical oddity. Pah yeah right to all of that. First of all most the food I was eating - actually, all the food I was eating was processed. I think the healthiest thing I ate was bowls of fruit - yay, covered in yogurt - not so yay with chocolate sprinkles to reward myself for being good - ... VIEW POST
