For most adults (definitely me), the daily grind of life is full of stress, long hours, and exhausting tasks that can make us simply want to curl up and avoid the world… at least for the hours we’re allowed! In terms of bedtime, there are of course ways to make it more relaxing for the kids, but I don’t need to tell you about the benefits of proper sleep for adults. We all know how lovely and refreshed we feel after 6-8 hours of rest, but sometimes there are many factors in our bedroom that ... VIEW POST
HOW TO GIVE YOURSELF THE BEDROOM YOU DESERVE
Busy Doing Nothing? It’s Time To Relax Doing Something
As you get older - and I don't mean old, I mean older - you begin to realise how important relaxation is. When you're a kid, there is the feeling you always have to be doing something. Something energetic. And then you get a job, get a family, whatever it may be. Then you realise that the more time you spend doing things, the less you spend appreciating what you have. And you recognize the benefits of tranquil time. Now, tranquil time doesn't have to be spent in front of the TV watching box ... VIEW POST
Are you saving enough for your child
I know that I will never own my home unless I win the lottery. It's just too out of the reach for me. But will happen to our children? Confessions Is 8 Years Old
Last week there was a little birthday going on. There wasn't any huge parties, balloons or party bags. No streamers or party poppers to be cleaned up. Just nothing really. Confessions of a Single Mum little old blog turned a grand age of 8 years old. 8 Years I have been plodding away spouting my thoughts on life as a single penniless struggling parent. What, if anything, has changed in those 8 years? Well, the children have done that growing thing despite my awful cooking. My eldest ... VIEW POST
Top Frugal Posts
Being frugal isn't always about living a Fagen-type life. It's more watching what we spend, throw away and if we really need things. You don't have to take just my word for it though. I've wiped up a round up of some really great frugal posts to prove it. First up is Wendy showing us how easy it is to Use Up Left Over Food. We waste so much food by over buying, cooking more than we need and generally thinking we need more than we do. I know I am guilty of not using leftovers and ... VIEW POST
Feel Like Your Head Is About To Explode?
My mother taught me three things in life that I have now learnt were probably the most important things ever and for 2 of them the most annoying things ever. The first is she taught me to sew. She came from an era where people knew it was important to have a trade. Have a trade and your never without money. It was drummed into me and whilst it was very apparent I was never going to give Delia Smith a run for her money and I wasn't tomboyish enough to build a wall the only thing left was ... VIEW POST
