The other day I was minding my own business, browsing in a shop when I overheard a conversation that just completely stunned me. I never saw the people so I can only guess there was a Father, Mother and daughter. I don’t know if there was anyone else or if they were birth parents or step family. But it went like this... A young girl’s voice could be heard as she excitedly points out things that are on the shelf. It was a craft shop so there were plenty of sparkly brightly coloured things to ... VIEW POST

The Then and Now of Confessions of a Single Mum
Somebody asked me the other day why I created Confessions of a Single Mum. I know why I did create this site all those years ago but time goes on, lives and circumstances change so I thought I would reiterate why I created Confessions of a Single Mum and why, even though my circumstances have changed, I still have Confessions of a Single Mum. Then - I divorced well over 10 years ago. About 8 years ago I met my now partner. In the early years of our relationship we went our separate ways a few ... VIEW POST
Christmas Tips
I read the other day that the average mum spends 51 hours preparing for the big day. The big day? You know Christmas Day. But with all this preparing it is ok to enlist help, share the work load out and cheat a bit. ... VIEW POST
December 1st
I always think November is my favourite month then December the 1st arrives and I am like 'oh wait no December is my favourite' . True to form its happened again this month. I also heard on the radio the 1st December being refereed to as tree day, you know 'put up your Christmas tree day'. I can't decide if to put mine up today or not. A quick ask on Facebook last night had mixed results. I asked who is putting their tree up on the 1st? Six replied no way, 12 days before or a week before. ... VIEW POST
Christmas Traditions
When it comes to Christmas I am worse than the kids. This coming Sunday is tree day ( 1st December so the Christmas tree goes up- keep up) and then after that I am just one excited, glitter covered, crafting making Christmas ball of excitement. For me it’s all the traditions and the build up to Christmas that I love, on the actual day I am rather deflated and somewhat exhausted. So Christmas Traditions, do you have any traditions that you trot out each year and make everyone join in? ... VIEW POST
Buy into the lottery dream online
We all like to dream that we could win the lottery one day, but the reality is that we probably won’t! That doesn’t stop us hoping though, and buying a ticket every now and then. These days, the choice of which lottery you play is far wider than it was a few years ago – it’s not only the UK National Lottery you can have a crack at! ... VIEW POST
