We all joke how lovely it would be to work from home and wear our pj’s all day, but hang on a mo, it’s not actually that daft an idea. Ok may the pj bit might be. You do have to do a bit soul searching and decide if working from home is right for you. It really isn’t all pj’s and Netflix. Well, it can but you won’t earn a living that way.
You would have to consider child care, how you would manage when kids are off in the holidays etc. Next, you have to consider what type of work at home job would you like to do and suit you. Not all jobs are internet based either so think about what skills you have and what you want from the job and create a short list of ideas.

Do you have enough discipline to work from home? When the sun is shining and you want to sit out or got to the beach you can’t drop everything. You also don’t have a boss making sure you are meeting deadlines or actually at your desk. It can be so tempting to say sod it and give yourself an afternoon off. If a new work from home job is not springing to mind have a look at what your last job was. If it was career orientated it then you might be able to use your previous experience and work from offering a similar service.
Or maybe you want a completely new challenge. A change from what you did before. Have a look around on the internet and visit Women Entrepreneur forums and Facebook groups to get ideas. But you really need to work out what type of job you would like to do and then you have a starting point.
If you’re a people person then working in front of a computer all day won’t be for you. Maybe sales of some sort or offering local services to local businesses. The most important thing you need to do, no matter what you decide to do, is to be realistic with yourself about how much time you can devote to your new business.
