Whohooo and I made it to day 3. I have resisted the urge to run every day as I am determined to do this and don’t want to crash and burn. Being an impatient soul that I am, this alone is a huge task for me.
The cat is now used to me plodding up and down and takes the opportunity to lay all sad in front of the sofa, where I am running, trying to reach his beloved blue fluff ball that gone under there. he looks at me each time I leap over him with a look of “want to stop that running stuff and get my ball now?”
I am getting why people get into running and the whole exercise thing. I have managed 46 years thinking people who ran or exercised were all mad. But the feeling you get when you have done something you previously thought was not possible is amazing. I bounce around the house all pleased with myself and kicking myself I didn’t start this ‘new me’ stuff years ago.
It has had a knock on effect. I won’t eat rubbish or rather I dont want to. I never thought I would be the person who only mainly ate fruit. Yes, I am having other stuff too but all sweets, chocolate, bread, cakes, crisps and anything else processed is totally out the window. I no longer look for or curl up with a bar of chocolate. Fizzy drinks are being phased out too which had long been my turn to drink.
This is all helping with the weight loss. I had started Weight Watchers which gave me a huge kick start into understanding portion sizes and how rubbish my diet used to be. But now I have stopped WW as the weight is falling off now that I am exercising and eating sensibly. My first stone loss is done and now working on my second. I should have the third and final stone off by Christmas.
Day 4 takes me into my second week of running and ups my running a few more seconds. I am again excited to see if ai can do it and I’ll back to let you know how it goes.
