When you first have children, it’s easy to let things like beauty and exercise regimes fall by the wayside. After all, you have children who rely upon you for literally everything, meaning you have very little time to yourself in the first few years.
However, once they’re old enough to learn what it is to be independent, you can start to enjoy some me-time again. This means, you can actually take time over your appearance and enjoy some much-needed self-indulgence!
Doing this will not only help increase your confidence levels but give you official yummy mummy status!
Find an exercise regime you love and stick to it!
I was a complete phobic to exercise for years, until I found something I love and I’ve never felt better! It was through this article that I found out about the benefits of balletic dance as a form of exercise, and I can say it really never is too late to learn!
You get to make new friends whilst having an incredibly intense work out which has left my body looking amazing. There are lots of different adult dance classes around the country and I can’t recommend taking one up enough!
Learn your personal beauty secrets
Once you’ve reached a certain age, you’ll know what works for you and what doesn’t. You know which drink gives you a hangover and which foods you can’t stand. You know what cut of jeans suits you best and you know whether or not you can walk in heels. However, it seems many of us refuse to learn from experience when it comes to beauty regimes.
Some people will only feel confident if wearing a full face of foundation whilst others look amazing with just a slick of concealer. Figure out what works best for you and create a signature daily look! Personally, I apply a little concealer, some blusher and a layer of mascara!
Take up a diet which makes you feel good
No, I don’t mean lose weight by eating less food; I mean choosing foods which make you feel great and have a positive effect on your body. Some people are incredibly sensitive to e-numbers and fats, so their mood is as affected by them as their weight.
I try to fit as many of these super foods into my diet as possible. Blueberries are amazing, and are a genuinely nice replacement for biscuits. They’re jam-packed with antioxidants and vitamin C so they’re great for skin, whilst a couple of mugs of green tea a day is not only a great alternative to a sugar coffee, but can help keep your digestive system working as it should!
