Now thinking about a budget when dating probably isn’t something that everyone thinks about but it can be surprising how much it can cost. Think about all the maintenance and time that goes into it, buying the new outfits, doing your hair. Going out for the drinks, because let’s face it, we want to show we can pay our own way now too. Even if it is still nice to be treated once in a while. Have a look below at some useful tips for dating when on a budget.
Watch Out For Sales
If getting that perfect outfit fills you with confidence for going on a date then no one should tell you not to go for it. At the end of the day you want to feel your best and if a new outfit does that for you then go ahead. When on a budget this is when the problems can arise. Buying a completely new outfit can be expensive and even if you find the right person after date number one, buying just one whole outfit can sometimes be a ridiculous amount to spend.
Try having a look in the sales or if you are on the dating scene and know that you will at some point be going on a date or two it may be worthwhile hunting when there’s a sale on and keeping the outfit to one side in your wardrobe. There is also nothing saying that there is anything wrong with wearing something you already have in your wardrobe, why not try adding a new necklace or scarf to your favourite top to give it a new lease of life.
You could also try shopping around some of the cheaper branded stores, not everywhere will break the bank and there is now a large array of shop that has brilliant valued clothes to suit all budgets. Always remember you don’t have to break the bank, you can even borrow things from friends and family, in fact, they’ll probably enjoy giving you their opinion on your outfit choices and could have the perfect pair of shoes to match that little black dress.
Use Coupons
Now this applies to all sorts when thinking about aspects of dating. If you want a new look for your hair or like to have nails done there are plenty of ways you can do this on a budget such as painting them yourself at home but looking out for coupons is a brilliant way of getting reduced rates at local salons, you can even look at for salons that looking for models when they are training new staff.
Sometimes you can even get things done for free, try looking at local beauty colleges if you don’t mind having newer person complete treatments. Of course, you can also use coupons for money off on meals, drinks and activities when you’re are on a date, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to save a little bit of money and whoever you’re on a date with should understand this too. They may even be impressed with how money savvy you are.
Take Advantage Of Freebies
There are a few things that this can apply to with regards to dating such as making use of social media like Facebook or free apps and free dating sites to try and meet new people and start new connections. When on a budget your priority is most likely not going to be paying for a premium service to find a date so using platforms like this can really help to keep the cost of dating to a minimum. You may even find that you have like-minded people using these methods too.
When it comes to going on the actual dates there is an abundance of free activities and date ideas that you do. Why not try getting in touch with nature and going for a hike or a nice romantic stroll or spend the afternoon wandering around a free entry museum, this could be a brilliant way to spark interesting conversations.
Arranging a picnic in the park, although not completely free, could be a really budget-friendly way to get to know someone, you can even show off with a little home cooking or suggest that you each bring something along to share with the other person. Once you’ve been dating a little while, cooking for each other at home or having a home movie night are brilliant budget nights in.
