Occasionally, you see a celebrity in an outfit that inspires you to try and find something similar, preferably exactly the same! The only problem is that said celebrity outfit is definitely out of your price range, leaving you a bit stumped as to what to do. So, the best thing you can do is find the closest match to the item they’re wearing and style your hair and accessories as best you can. This way you will achieve that celebrity look that will give you tonnes of confidence and get you all the compliments.
A favourite on the red carpet and out and about is Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge sure knows how to rock a nude heel and her hair is always full of volume with a slightly looser curl. The nude heel that the Duchess usually opts for, as her fail-safe, is the L.K. Bennett Sledge Court in Fawn. This shoe comes in at just under £200 but you can buy a very close match from New Look, the Stone Patent Pointed Court shoe, for under £20.
That’s your footwear sorted but what about your hair? To achieve Kate Middleton’s bouncy Chelsea blow dry you need a good mane to begin with. If you need some extra length or thickness to achieve this you might want to consider investing in some American Dream hair extensions. As they’re made from real hair they’re just as easy to style as the rest of your locks and with hundreds of colours to choose from you should be able to find an exact match.
Hair in place, you need to give it a good blow dry with a paddle brush and fix sections around large rollers on the top of your head. When you release the rollers, trust your hair to stay in place and don’t use too much product, as it will just end up weighing your hair down and release the curls.
Another favourite on the red carpet is Natalie Portman. To work her classic style, keep your make up natural and look to Dior for guidance (Natalie is the face of Dior.) If you’re feeling brave, opt for a bright red lipstick too, Natalie opened her make up bag to Vogue and says she never goes without a lipstick, “I own too many to count! You can never have too many options,” she confirmed.
Once your make up is done, it’s time to find an elegant but casual outfit to go with it. Despite being heavily pregnant at most events lately, Natalie still manages to look as elegant as ever in her ball gowns. However, it’s her every day fashion we’re going to focus on.
Natalie usually opts for a simple blouse paired with some black jeans and pumps for out and about. This classic and comfortable look is easily achieved with a lower budget. The Somerset by Alice Temperley range at John Lewis offers some beautiful delicate lace blouses that are perfect for this outfit. Pair with some black jeans and pointed pumps like these from ASOS and you have a classic Natalie Portman outfit for under £100!
