With this whole new me stuff that’s going onI have been looking at every part of my life and working out what needs changing. This is the fun bit where I am learning the things I actually like and get to change all the things I was told I liked or liked just to please others.
One of the things I need to change was my mattress. It was causing me great pain and I do mean literally. It was a memory foam one and it had got to the point it was having amnesia moments. It was terribly warm to sleep in which isn’t a bad thing unless you’re prone to those wonderful hot flushes at night. Then there was the issue that unless you by super duper memory foam mattresses or dual ones, they can be on the thin side. My wooden bed looked like a toddlers bed with the mattress peaking over the side of the bed. So a really soft mattress coupled with not being able to get out of the divet and climbing up out of bed started to make my back really painful each morning.
So new mattress ordered – back to old-fashioned coils and firm as I sleep on my front and firm is the way to go apparently for tummy sleepers. The delivery day was so exciting and couldn’t wait to get into bed. The new fitted electric blanket was also purchased as I had so missed getting into a warm bed. Next morning I woke with less pain – yessssssss. But it was a bit too firm so decided to put the topper I had used on the memory phone to make it deeper on to the new mattress. Now the problem being the memory foam is quite flexible and putting the fitted sheets corners on was easy as the corners folded easily. But on super duper extra thick and firm mattress they don’t. I swore, I wrestled and was not going to be beaten and used my stubborn streak to my advantage. ……
…..and put my back out.
So I now have a bad back from the thing that was supposed to sort out my bad back. But on a good note, I now have to climb up into bed and feel like the Princess and the Pea. I always wanted to be a princess.
