Today I heard the most saddest news. News that mad me stop in my tracks and made me look at my own life and appreciate how precious the time we actually have is.
A school friend passed away this morning. Being the same age it has really hit home. In later life we drifted apart but still caught up through the power of Facebook. As school friends we had sleepovers, a joint love of playing make believe and far too many trips to the corner shop for penny sweets.
Most of today , as like many others, I have been in shock. You hear about death all the time. Its in our daily news and in our newspapers. Its just as sad but somehow were not so affected. But when its someone who is your age or you went to school with it really does shout at you the fragility of life and how taken for granted it is.
My heart goes out to her family and her many close friends. They of course will be feeling this so much more. But if I can find any positiveness in all this it’s that this has really made me think.
Life is too short for anger and bitterness.
Life is too short for hatred and sadness.
Life is too short to hold grudges or to fret and worry.
Our lives are short, not guaranteed and full of unknown.
We don’t get a second chance and there is no re-run or second goes.
This is it. Make it count. Make it memorable. Make it happy and make it happen.
