Living in Cornwall has its perks. You’re only ever 20 minutes from a beach. There is countryside, lots of it and the ace of life is slow. So slow they call it dreckly. Everything in Cornish life is done dreckly. But there are downsides. Hills, holiday makers and narrow lanes. Not a good combination really. Oh and we have a fair bit of Cornish sunshine, which to everyone else is rain.
As much as I would like to be donned from head to toe is girlyness, it just isn’t practical with all the hills. I slipped on my arse more than enough to know that girly shoes, hills and walking doesn’t mix well. Even my house is perched on a hill right next to town. All very well if there are flood warnings as I would need a flood on Noah proportions to get my toes wet. This does mean I do a lot of walking. Down into town, back up the hill out again loaded with shopping. When I walk anywhere the journey home is always up a hill no matter which way I go. In the summer it is actually quicker to walk to the local supermarket then to sit in traffic behind lost holiday makers. So more walking with heavier bags.
So you can imagine my excited yes when Hi tec asked if I wanted to try out their new Harmony collection. Very excitedly they arrived and I read the little label
“We know life is about balance. Finding the perfect blend between the daily rush and relaxing escapes. We created our stylish Harmony Collection to help women achieve that balance. Beautifully designed to cope with all walks of life, they’re great fitting shoes and sandals that effortlessly fit into natural and urban settings. Gorgeous looking, fabulously lightweight and exceptionally comfortable, the Harmony Collection is designed by women for women. “
I have been wearing them daily for over a week now and I have to say I am impressed. There hasn’t been any of that painful breaking them in bit. Nothing has rubbed, hurt or pinched. They are comfortable and everything else they promised they were to be. I have walked up hills, down hills (no slipping – yay) I’ve climbed walls (don’t ask) and ran around parks. The bit that impressed me the most was I did a lot of this is the gorgeous sunshine we’ve had. My feet haven’t complained, swelled or stunk at all.
These are the Hi-Tec walking shoes I have been romping around the Cornish country side with.
Big question – would I buy these again. 100% yes.
